RE/Tension^™ panels have an integral precast column unit attached to the back of the panel and are used in situations where reinforcing strips cannot be used. RE/Tension provides a unique solution for localized areas where a Reinforced Earth^® retaining wall might not be possible to erect because obstructions or right-of-way may not allow clearance for the reinforcing strips. RE/Tension's counterfort design provides a narrow profile behind the wall face, yet uses the same cruciform panel facing as the adjacent Reinforced Earth structure. Since the counterfort transfers loads to a spread footing, no reinforcing strips are required behind the wall.
